Dramatic Play is when the children learn by imagining and doing. They really enjoy engaging in pretend play as they experiment with the social and emotional roles of life. Through cooperative play, the children learn how to take turns, share responsibility, and creatively solve problems. When children pretend to be different characters, they have the experience of “walking in someone else’s shoes,” which helps to teach the morally important developmental skill of empathy.
